Our Strengths

PCC has a lot to offer besides a quality education. All PCC students are refined and groomed during their studies. They are prepared for higher studies and practical life. PCC, which is a vital part of Punjab Group of Colleges, is a ladder to success. Emphasis is placed developing the students’ personalities and self-discipline. Incentives

Incentives are a great source of motivation for students and they encourage talented students to work harder in order to attain the highest positions. Students who achieve good positions are a symbol of pride for their alma-mater. Students obtaining top positions at Board or University level are awarded new cars and motorcycles, plus free higher education if offered.

• University students showing outstanding performance in prior qualifications can enjoy a free education at PCC.
• The College grants fee-concession (within due time ) to deserving students at the time of admission but these concessions are not once and for all; students benefiting from this assistance are required to continuously maintain excellent results. Students are required to follow the application procedure for fee concessions.
• Students are presented with attendance awards and distinction certificates for punctuality and outstanding performance in different disciplines.
• Students can have kinship and old students concessions within due time of every installment as per rules.
• Students are encouraged to participate in sports and co-curricular activities. They can win medals, shields and cash prizes.

PCC offers a friendly and relaxed study environment. Teachers are always available at the campuses to guide students, help them with academic problems and exchange views. The rapport which builds between students and faculty improves all aspects of the academic experience.

Students Career Advisory Service

Gaining a qualification at PCC opens up a range of career options for students. The Career Advisors at PCC dispense valuable information and guidance to students, helping them make the best possible decisions. Punjab Group of Colleges also has an arrangement with Caledonian University, UK for higher studies. This program has been specially designed exclusively for PCC B.Com. students.

Student Counseling Service

Student life is rewarding and stimulating but also has its share of stress. Students who are preoccupied with personal worries may find it hard to concentrate on their studies or feel isolated and deserted. The counseling service offers support and constructive help when there are problems. Trained and experienced counselors are available for students to consult.

Liaison with Parents

Attendance is monitored regularly and entered in computer software on a regular basis for analysis and to generate reports. The data is also used to make academic and administrative decisions. Parents are also informed about their children’s attendance or unbecoming behavior. Computerizing attendance records has made it possible to have greater cooperation from parents in initiating remedial action regarding irregular and erratic behavior of students.

Assessment

Students’ academic progress is evaluated through class tests and in- house examinations. Their performance in tests and examinations is also computerized and parents are informed on a regular basis. Extra coaching in their areas of weakness is also given to students without any additional charge.

Computer and Commerce Education

To prepare for the challenges of the 21st century PCC has incorporated computer courses into every academic program. These courses equip the younger generation with the requisite computer skills. Our IT curriculum is continually updated to provide students with the best technological learning environment. I.Com. and B.Com. students are required to complete basic computer courses. PCC Computer Labs are well equipped with the latest technology and excellent teaching facilities.

Clubs and Societies

Debating Society

The PCC Debating Society is an integral part of campus co-curricular activities. It expands students’ intellect and increases their communicative skills. The society arranges regular debates and declamation contests to give students the opportunity to develop their public speaking skills and gain confidence.

Quiz Programs

At the intermediate level, all sections participate in Quiz Competitions, relating to the syllabi and current prevailing knowledge of commerce. Activities such as these sharpen the intellect and inculcate a sense of confidence in students.

Punjab College Dramatic Club – PCDC

Punjab College Dramatic Club (PCDC) plays a pivotal role in the promotion of extra-curricular pursuits. It offers opportunities to widen one’s mental horizons; PCDC provides a valuable forum for students to express various themes ranging from classical plays to modern comedies. Participants gain confidence, hone their talents and learn stage management skills, all of which broaden their personalities as they enjoy the thrill of performing.

College Magazine ….. AUJ

The college encourages self-expression through PCC’s “AUJ” magazine, which is a blend of Urdu and English articles. AUJ welcomes contributors who possess a flair for writing. The young minds at PCC provide a provocative panorama of views on diverse issues ranging from social stagnation to intellectual upheaval. This develops confidence and creates a sense of awareness about unexplored issues in today’s society. Backed by a Chief Editor, AUJ is largely operated by a number of co-editors selected from amongst the student quarters. The college magazine also records academic accomplishments and sports successes in the Board and the University, thereby keeping the Punjabians up-to-date with all the latest happenings on campus.

Mehfil -e- Milad

The life of our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) has always been a beacon of light for humanity. In order to pay homage to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) PCC organizes Mahfil-e-Milad every year during Ramadan. Students glorify the greatness of the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) with passion in their voices. These sacred gatherings are well arranged and are sometimes telecast on private TV channels.

Annual Mushaira

Annual Mushaira is yet another co-curricular event aimed at enhancing and applauding the creative literary spirit of our youth. Students feel euphoric when given the opportunity to recite poetry before prominent literary figures from around the country. Distinguished poets such as Ahmad Faraz, Anwer Masood, Amjad Islam Amjad , Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi , Saad ullah Shah, Farhat Abbas Shah often grace the mushaira evening with their charismatic poetry.

Sports Gala

Educational Institutions not only impart education to students but also mould their personalities as a whole. Every year, PCC holds annual sports events which provide athletes the opportunity to display their abilities. PCC sportsmen have bagged numerous titles and awards in Board and University competitions bringing accolades to their institution.

College Functions and Visits

An important milestone at the end of each academic session is the prize distribution and farewell functions, for which lavish arrangements are made. These memorable events reflect a period of hard work and the personal development to the outgoing students of PCC. In the company of their families and friends they celebrate unforgettable moments.
Students at PCC are encouraged to visit cultural and historical sites. College sponsored trips are arranged to various scenic and historic areas around the country. Also, throughout the academic session a variety of social and sports events are arranged.

College Transport Facility

The college provides transport facility to its students on various routes. Students must register at the Transport Office to avail this facility. Furthermore, our institutions are recognized by all concerned transportation authorities and our students are entitled to concessions for travel by road, rail and air.

Air-conditioned Classroom

All classrooms are air-conditioned, enabling the students to concentrate on their studies in a comfortable learning environment.

Audio-Visual Aids

All classrooms have Audio-Visual aids such as multimedia projectors and sound systems. This promotes effective communication to expedite class work for teachers and students alike. Lecture demonstrations and student projects can be clearly displayed to groups.

College Bookshop

All PCC campuses have bookshops, which stock the books recommended by course tutors. Stationery items are also available at competitive rates. Keeping in view the ever-increasing demand for notes, photocopy service is available within every campus to save precious time for both teachers and students.

College Café

A College Café on every campus provides a refreshing respite from studying. These Cafes provide a wide range of snacks and drinks at reasonable rates, and are hygienically prepared fresh daily.

College Identity Card

In order to impress upon students the importance of discipline and to cultivate a sense of affinity each student is issued an identity card and it is compulsory for every student to display it during classes.

Uniform for Girls

At the request of most parents and keeping in view our social, religious and cultural heritage we have a compulsory uniform for female students at all campuses. The prescribed uniform is available at all girls’ campuses. Female students are required to conform to the uniform rules while attending classes.

Ladies’ Lounge

At every campus a separate ladies’ lounge is available for our female students. These are beautifully furnished and equipped with basic facilities so that students can sit and relax during breaks.
