Incentives have always been a greal source of motivation for students that encourage talented students to work harder and to attain good positions. Students who achieve good positions are a symbol of pride for their alma-mater. Students who get top positions at board or university level are awarded new motor cars and motor cycles, plus free higher education if offered.

• University students showing outstanding performance in prior qualifications can enjoy free education at PCW.
• College grants fee-concession (within due time ) to deserving students at the time of admission but these concessions are not once and for all, students benefiting from this assistance are required to continuously perform better. Students are required to follow the application procedure of fee concession.
• Students are awarded attendance awards and distinction certificates for their punctuality and outstanding performance in different disciplines.
• Students can have kinship and old students concessions within due time of every installment and as per rules.
• Students are encouraged to participate in sports and in co-curricular activities. They can win medals, shields and cash prizes.

Students Career Advisory Service

Gaining a qualification at PCW opens up a range of career options for students. The students aiming to go abroad for higher studies can seek valuable information and guidance from the career advisors. This helps them to make right decisions at the right time. PGC also has an arrangement with Caledonian University for higher studies at UK. This is a specially designed program only for PCW B.Com students.

Student Counseling Service

Student life is rewarding and stimulating but also has its share of stress. Students who are preoccupied with personal worries may find it hard to concentrate on their studies and may feel isolated and deserted. The counseling service offers support and constructive help when there are problems. The trained and experienced counselors are ever ready to help them out.

Liaison with Parents

Attendance of students is monitored regularly. It is entered in computer software on regular basis for analysis and to generate reports. Parents are also informed about their children's attendance or unseemly behavior. The data is also used to make several academic and administrative decisions. Thus it has been possible to have greater co­operation from the parents in initiating remedial action regarding irregular and erratic students.

Assessment

Students' academic progress is evaluated through class tests and house examinations. Their performance in tests and examinations is also computerized and parents are informed on regular basis. Extra-coaching is also given to the students without any additional charges in their areas of weaknesses.

Computer and Commerce Education

To compare the challenges of the 21st century PCW has computer courses. These courses equip the younger generation with the requisite computer skills. These computer courses are continually updated to provide students the best technological learning environments. Students of I.Com. and B.Com. are required to complete basic computer courses. It is a big step towards the learning of new and emerging business information systems. PCW Computer Centers are well equipped with computer labs and teaching facilities.

Debating Society

Debating society of the College is an integral part of co-curricular activities. It helps students polish their intellects and communicative skills. The society arranges regular debates and declamation contests to give chance to young students develop their communication skills and gain confidence.

 

Quiz Programs

At the intermediate level, all the sections have to participate in Quiz Competitions, concerning syllabus and current prevailing knowledge of commerce. Such healthy activities do not only sharpen the intellect but also inculcate a sense of confidence in the students.

Punjab College Dramatic Club - PCDC

Punjab College Dramatic Club - PCDC plays a pivotal role in the promotion of extra­curricular pursuits. In a tension-ridden society where there are a few opportunities of widening mental horizons or building character of students, PCDC provides a valuable chance by displaying various themes ranging from classical plays to modern comedies. It helps in learning the art of living that plays twin role of entertainment and education.

College Magazine

The college encourages self-expression through a well-established magazine of PCW "Aug", blended with Urdu and English sections. Aug welcomes those contributors who possess a special flair of writing. Young minds of PCW provide a provocative panorama of views on diverse issues, ranging from social stagnation to intellectual upheaval. This develops confidence and creates a sense of awareness about unexplored mysteries of the society. Backed by a chief editor, Aug is largely operated by a number of co-editors, from among the student quarters. The college magazine also echoes the academic accomplishments and sports successes in the Board and University, thereby, keeping the Punjabians all the time abreast of the fresh news.

College Functions and Visits

An important milestone at the end of each academic session is the prize distribution and farewell functions, which are usually held at one of the best hotels of the city. This memorable event reflects a period of hard work and the personal development to the outgoing students of PCW. In the company of their families and friends they celebrate the unforgettable moments. Besides, students at PCW are encouraged to visit cultural and historical sites. Throughout the academic session a variety of social and sports events are arranged.

The present age is the age of rock nn roll. As a result of satellite craze, our young generation is fond of music. To satisfy this growing popularity, PCW offers great opportunities to their students to enjoy music concerts. Most famous rock stars are invited to perform at PCW functions.

 

Mehfil-e-milad

The life of our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) has always been a beacon of light for the humanity. In order to pay homage to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) PCW organizes mahfil-e-milad every year during the last decade of Ramadan. Students of the college glorify the greatness of the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in their passionate voices. These sacred gatherings are so well arranged that at times these are telecasted on several private TV channels.

 

Annual Mushaira

Annual Mushaira is yet another co-curricular event aimed at enhancing and applauding the creative literary spirit of the youth, Students feel elevated when they get an opportunity to recite their poetic efforts before the prominent literary persons of the country. Distinguished poets like Ahmad Faraz, Anwer Masood, Amjad Islam Amjad , Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi , Saad ullah Shah, Farhat Abbas Shah often adorn the mushaira evening with their charismatic poetry.

 

Sports Gala

Educational Institutions not only impart education to students but also mould their personalities as a whole. Every year, PCW holds annual sports with a bang that provide an opportunity to many sportsmen in unfolding their abilities. PCW sportsmen have bagged numerous titles and awards in Board and University competitions to brighten-up the name in their institution.

College Transport Facility

The college provides transport facility to its students on different routes. Students just have to get registered at transport office. Further, our institutions are recognized by all concerned transportation authorities and our students are entitled to concessions for travel by road, rail and air.

All classrooms are air-conditioned that turn the stifling atmosphere into pleasant learning environment, enabling the students to concentrate on their studies in comfort.

All campuses of PCW have bookshops, which stock books recommended by course- tutors. Stationery items are also available at competitive rates. Keeping in view the ever- increasing demand for notes, photo-copy service is available within every campus to save precious time of both teachers and students.

College Cafe

College cafe at every campus provides a refreshing respite from the tiring routine. Cafes provide a wide range of eatables and drinks at reasonable rates.

College Identity Card

In order to impress on the students the importance of discipline and to cultivate a sense of affinity each student is issued a separate identity card and it is compulsory for every student to display it during classes,

Uniforms for Girls

On the request of most parents and keeping in view the socioeconomic aspects and our religious and cultural heritage we have compulsory uniform for female students at all campuses. The prescribed uniform is available at all girls' campuses. Female students are required to conform to the uniform rules while attending classes.

Female Lounge

At every campus a separate female lounge is available for girls. These are beautifully furnished and equipped with basic facilities so that the students can sit and relax during breaks.
